Commissioning a portrait
is simple.
Every Ivory & Ink portrait follows the same careful process — from your photograph to a finished original on your wall. Here is exactly what to expect.
01. Choose & pay in full
Select your portrait type — solo, two subjects, or family group — and complete payment at checkout. Full payment is taken up front so we can get started on your order right away with no delays.
02. Send your reference photo
After checkout, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for sending your reference photograph. A clear, well-lit photo with the face in sharp focus gives the best result. See the photo guide below if you are unsure.
03. Your portrait is painted
Every portrait is painted entirely by hand in professional watercolor on 300gsm cotton paper. We work carefully through multiple sessions to build up colour, light, and likeness. You will receive a progress photo at the halfway point.
04. Packaged & shipped to you
Once finished, your original painting is wrapped in archival glassine, placed in a rigid stay-flat mailer, and shipped fully insured directly to your door. A tracking number is sent as soon as your order leaves the studio.
